Legal Information Society of NS & Accessibility Act Presentations-CENTRAL Region

Community sector participants are invited to the CLARI Room at Saint Mary’s University, March 25, 2019 from 9am-12noon for presntations on LISNS (Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia) and the Accessibility Act (reachAbility)




About LISNS


Legal Information Society of NS helps Nova Scotians build legal life skills to minimize conflicts, and promotes access to justice by delivering legal information in innovative and effective ways.  This session will highlight LISNS free services and programs including their award winning wills app and small claims court app, legal helpline and web resources in addition to community programming through their navigator programs most recently providing family law information to front line community service workers to help their clients more effectively.

Topics covered will include the a review of the act, an update of its implementation and next steps, community engagement, empowerment and accessibility, the legislation’s impacts on organizations as well as potential opportunities surrounding the act.
