Community Gathering: Advancing Equity and Justice
Are you a champion for justice and equity and reimaging work in your organization? Join IONS and other impact organizations (non-profits) to connect, co-learn and collaborate on challenges, strategies and tools to advance equity and justice in your organization.
In partnership with the Community Impact Sector and Communties, Culture, Tourism, and Heritage (CCTH), IONS has developed “Pathway to Actions”, an accessible navigation to tools and resources to support organizations in growing their knowledge, shifting mindsets, and moving to action. The Pathway to Actions survey can help you navigate tools and resources to support your organization in growing knowledge, shifting mindsets, and moving to action – based on where you are in your journey.
At this gathering, impact organizations will be invited to connect, learn and share resources and strategies for advancing equity and justice.
In advance of the session: If you’re able, we ask you to spend 15-30 minutes taking the Pathway to Actions survey. The survey will walk you through 12 scenario-based questions, and then offer you an organizational persona and curated resources that are aimed at growing knowledge, shifting mindsets and moving to action – based on where you are at in your equity and justice journey.
The organizational personas were created through community research with impact organizations in Mi’kma’ki. They outline common motivations, needs, and barriers faced in this work. The gathering will provide an opportunity for you to explore these topics with others in the sector, to connect and learn from impact leaders who are moving through their journey, and to share resources that facilitate actin in communities.
Outcomes:
- Identify where your organization is on its equity and justice journey
- Connect and learn with other community impact organizations about how to move forward in your next steps for your equity and inclusion journey
- Access language and resources to facilitate further dialogue and action in your organization about your equity and justice work
