Funding Community Impact Series: Session 1

What this session has to offer:

Have you heard the advice that you must “diversify your funding structure”? What does that mean and where should you begin? During session 1, hear from representatives of various funding streams and learn some tips for success in accessing funds from different sources.

Series Description:

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (Nova Scotia Chapter) and Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia (IONS) have a common interest in supporting organizations across the region in accessing the resources they need to have the impact they want. We are coming together to offer a 3-part webinar series, Funding Community Impact to explore opportunities and barriers faced by organizations.

In this three part series, we will hear from experts, practitioners, and funders to equip community leaders with a fuller understanding of how funding works, what gets in the way, and novel approaches from the field. Join us for some tangible tips, new ideas, and a chance to ask some of your burning funding-related questions.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 30,000 members in 230+ chapters throughout the world. The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals – promoting high ethical standards in fundraising and working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education, and certification programs. The Nova Scotia Chapter is a volunteer-run organization with a membership of more than 125 fundraising professionals, volunteers, students and allied professionals.

Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia (IONS) connects, supports, and advocates for Nova Scotia’s Community Impact Sector. Our role is to address sector workforce challenges, to build capacity within organizations, and to increase access to expertise, opportunities, and resources.
