Pensions & Benefits Roundtable-April 10, 2019-Central Region
April 10, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
You and your employees are the heartbeat of what we do, so it has become a priority of mine to improve the way we take care of our people. One way I’m hoping to achieve this is by finding an easy, cost-effective way to offer pension and benefits options across the sector. I see it as a way to help you attract and retain great people, while sharing the administrative responsibilities, so you can continue doing your great work in communities across the province.
I’m excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Nick Mombourquette of NewGround Financial and Rod Dickie of REM Investment Group to study our sector as it pertains to benefits. Nick and Rod are leaders in the benefits industry in Nova Scotia and both specialize in serving the non-for-profit sector.
We will be holding an important round table meeting to gather information and feedback. Our goal is to understand what is most important for you and your employees. We will discuss everything related to benefits, including pension, group RRSP’s, Health, Dental and Disability programs to understand your needs and find out what’s working or what could be fixed.
By the end of our session, Nick and Rod should be equipped to lobby the insurance carriers to create a tailored benefits offering for our sector. This will help us cut benefit and pension costs, ease the burden of administration, and provide extra benefits like HR resources, telemedicine offerings and personal financial planning for our employees. I hope at the end of the day, it will also give us peace of mind, knowing we are providing best-in-class benefits for the people who do so much for our province.
I strongly encourage you to take the time to join us. We need input from organizations of all sizes to make this work.
