For more than thirty years, Cecilia Concerts has presented diverse world-class chamber music experiences in welcoming, bilingual, accessible, and intimate settings that connect our communities, educate and inspire audiences and artists, and enhance the rich heritage and culture of K’jipuktuk/Halifax.
We are growing. There has never been a better time to join our non-profit charity as the Fund Development Officer reporting to the Executive Director. Playing a key role in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, you will develop and implement an annual fundraising plan.
The position responsibilities include:
Key Duties
- Develop and implement an annual plan to secure individual and corporate sponsors and donors, as well as support from foundations.
- Support corporate fundraising strategies to ensure maximum revenue is achieved from prospects and donors.
- Perform research to generate lists of new prospects and generate profiles, proposals/case for support and other solicitation materials as required.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate sponsors, foundations, and donors to achieve identified and agreed upon fundraising targets.
- Maintain accurate, professional, and current records, actions, and reports.
Qualifications
- Completion of a college diploma/university degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of two years success in corporate fundraising and stewardship in non-profit fundraising or similar environment.
- A broad knowledge of sponsorship and corporate social responsibility trends.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and administrative skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills to communicate effectively with corporate sponsors and donors to meet their needs.
- Takes initiative and is collaborative.
- Able to work with a diversity of corporate donors, sponsors, and prospects.
- Able to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS office suite, with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills and knowledge of fundraising databases.
- The ability to work in French is an asset.
