A program delivery non-profit, Clean Foundation’s (Clean) drive is to help the communities in which we work make real progress toward a cleaner future.

We understand climate change is an urgent challenge, putting our ecosystems, cultures and economic livelihoods at risk. At the same time, the clean economy is in a period of exponential growth. Here at Clean we support communities by bringing specialized teams together to work on complex problems and deliver clean projects and programming.

THIS MOMENT, THIS POSITION


Clean is growing, and is eager to welcome an organized and people-centric HR Operations Manager to the team. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the HR Operations Manager will provide current human resource expertise. By collaborating with the senior leadership team to achieve Clean’s objectives, they will inspire strong alignment of HR practices with Clean’s policies and practices.

This thoughtful communicator will roll out processes for performance management, coaching, creating talent development activities, process changes and employee relations support.

They will contribute their expertise to support the development and implementation of Clean’s operating strategies. They are comfortable advising on, interpreting and implementing proposed strategies and can draw on their education to provide metrics, support recruitment and training development and work in depth with our HR system (Humi).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

HR OPERATIONS 

  • Oversee HR policies and procedures as needed, ensuring they meet legal compliance and are in line with the overall business aims and supportive of Clean’s values.
  • Provide proactive input on HR and people-related matters to enhance the effectiveness and traction of business decisions.
  • Manage standard reporting processes as needed, ensuring both the accuracy and timely submission of related data.
  • Provide expert counsel on employee selection and performance management.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

  • Act as HR support on all necessary aspects from organizational development and communication to employee relations, performance management and talent development.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to the HR Generalist.
  • Coach Managers in all HR matters with the objective of increasing their awareness and facilitating their development.

TALENT ACQUISITION

  • Support the attraction and recruitment of high-quality talent: to include leading activities locally and coaching leaders with respect to interview and selection processes.
  • Implement Training Need Analysis and follow up with the implementation of Talent Development and Succession Planning programs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate or Diploma in HR, Business, Administrative Management, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Experience in coaching and mentorship
  • Experience in HR Administration/Operations
  • Proven results focus and ability to meet tight, concurrent deadlines
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Solid understanding of Human Resources principles, concepts, and processes
  • Knowledge related to jurisdictional laws, legislation, rules, and regulations in Canada is an asset
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Experience with an HRIS and HR Services technology
  • Experience with Health and Safety programs and compliance is considered an asset.

THE PACKAGE

Salary: Starting at $65,000 / year

Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (Requirement to travel to PEI and Sydney from time to time).
