Executive Director

Position Type .6 FTE Contract, April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025

Hours 42 hours per 2-week pay period. Flexible hours.  Occasional evening and weekend hours.

Job Description The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the Evangeline Recreation Society according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership to Board and Staff in planning and implementing the vision and strategic directions of the ERS.
Coordinate the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the ERS to ensure the expectations of members, Directors, funders, and community are achieved.
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the ERS programs and services.
Administer the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures, and practices, including staff hiring, mentoring, and evaluation.
Engage with the staff and members of Evangline Club to support their mental health and cultivate a culture of belonging and acceptance.
Oversee the financial management of the ERS.
Establish collaborative relationships with community groups, other service providers, and funders.



Community College diploma, undergraduate university degree, or comparable education
Management experience in the non-profit sector is an asset.
Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Knowledge and experience relevant to people living with mental health challenges.
Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to nonprofit/voluntary organizations.
Awareness of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization.
Experience with human resource management, including accommodation practices.
Familiarity with financial and project management processes
Ability to use computers for Word processing. financial management, spreadsheets, email, social media, and internet.
Willingness to complete a vulnerable sector check.

Salary of $33,000.00 (.6 FTE prorated annual salary of $55,000.00).
2 weeks paid vacation.
7 paid statutory holidays
Sick leave at rate of 0.5 working day for each completed month of service.
Paid mileage on work related business.
