Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change’s role is to protect the environment, human health and farm animal welfare through regulatory excellence, conservation, partnership, and promotion. To achieve this, we strive to develop legislation, regulations and policies, process notifications, applications, and approvals for regulated activities based on sound scientific knowledge and expertise. Our goal is to educate, inspect and enforce to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations. We also proactively respond to environmental, conservation, farm animal welfare, and human health risks and work to develop programs and deliver services to enhance protection in these areas.
This position is based in within the Climate Change Division’s Adaptation team. Governments, businesses, and communities are taking action to adapt and respond to the effects of the changing climate and prepare for future changes. We help government departments, their stakeholders, and other external groups to understand current and future impacts and risks of climate change on their operations, sector(s), mandate and goals, as well as broader implications for Nova Scotian communities, economy, ecosystems, and infrastructure. Through data, research, training, engagement, and partnerships, we support the development of adaptation efforts that reflect best research and practice and result in meaningful and measurable progress.

Pay Grade: PR 17
Salary Range: $2,913.59 – $3,421.98 Bi-Weekly
