Reports to: Executive Director (ED)

Location: Primarily onsite at OHC.  Some travel within the Municipality of Chester is required. Hybrid work options may be considered at the discretion of OHC.

Hours: 18-20 hours per week. The schedule will be determined based on programming and other operational requirements. Some evenings and weekends will be required, scheduled with advanced notice in consultation with the successful candidate. While the exact schedule may vary, the position typically requires availability during afternoon hours.

Salary: $19-$21 per hour, based on experience.

 

Position Summary­­­­_____________________________________________

 

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will collaborate with staff, community members, and partner organizations to plan, coordinate, and implement programs promoting the health and well-being of the communities OHC serves. This role involves community outreach, program development and coordination, budget support, and facilitation.

Qualifications Required_________________________________________

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with program coordination (community, recreational, or health)
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to interact effectively with the public.
  • Enthusiasm for community engagement and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of current wellness programs within our service area.
  • Understanding of social determinants of health and their impacts in our community.
  • Self-starter, able to work with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to contribute positively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working in a small community.
  • Passion for supporting community health and wellness.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience or ability to learn Microsoft Office, Zoom, Canva, Meta Business Suite and/or similar applications.
  • Experience with program evaluation, data collection and compilation, report writing, and program budget coordination.
  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in a related field or equivalent experience is an asset.

 

Conditions of Employment: 

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) recent within 1 year, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
