We are currently recruiting for:

Community Residential Support Workers (Part-Time)

Location: Halifax, Bedford, Dartmouth, and Lower Sackville, NS

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reporting to a House Supervisor, you will be part of a dynamic staff team supporting individuals with complex intellectual and emotional challenges. Areas of support may include community access, recreation and leisure, household management, life skills, personal care, and medication administration. This is a fast-paced environment requiring critical planning, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships, positive behaviour supports, consistency, and flexibility are of paramount importance.

The successful candidate will be required to ensure the individuals supported are actively and consistently engaged in decision-making. The approach used will ensure a broad range of opportunities for community involvement and participation in household activities. You will take a multi-disciplinary team approach and will be required to incorporate a broad range of recommendations. Proficiencies in program development and implementation, problem solving, and analysis will be an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 plus post-secondary education with preference given to studies in Human Services and/or experience in a Human Service field.
Experience supporting complex needs would be considered an asset.
Experience working with an interdisciplinary team, including mental health professionals and Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs) would be considered an asset.
Effective professional communication skills and an ability to liaise with key partners including families, professionals, and other agencies.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organization and record keeping skills.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team.

COMPENSATION:

$21.07 per hour (plus shift differentials where applicable)
Health and Dental Benefits, Life Insurance, LTD, AD&D, and Group RRSP plan.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Scheduling is based on a 4 week rotational schedule including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
