Enhanced Programs Manager – Full time Term July 2022 -March 2023
Our mission is to create or facilitate opportunities for people with intellectual disability, one person at a time. As a person-centered organization, we meet the unique and diverse needs and desires of individuals as much as possible. Our spectrum of services takes into account personal interests and varying degrees of ability and independence. Our programs and services range from personal care and health to social skills and employment with considerable interconnection. As new skills are developed, levels of independence, desires and opportunities can change, and new doors open. The role of the Enhanced Programs Manager is to research, create and implement education, leisure and training programs based on the interests of participants and employees.
The Opportunity: The successful candidate will develop programs to ensure services are meeting the needs for existing participants and employees as well as serving those on our wait list. The Enhanced Program Manager will oversee scheduling, co-ordinate programs and services, provide training, and support. In addition, support and manage enhanced staff, residential staff, and families for individuals we are currently working with as well as those on the waitlist.
Credentials:
Ability to perform all physical duties of the job (hands on training and support, personal care, etc.).
Ability to perform all duties related to developing, creating, and implementing and managing person centered supports for adults with intellectual disability.
Excellent computer skills (adept in the use of various software programs including, word, excel, database, PowerPoint).
Training in First Aid /CPR, Medication Awareness, Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention is preferred.
Proof of Vaccination for COVID -19
Current and cleared Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Persons Check
Proven team player with demonstrated communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding service orientated organization.
Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a passenger vehicle.
Weekend and evening work required.
Hours per week: 40 hours per week. This is a salaried position at $44,000/year.
