Instructor/Support Staff (Casual Positions)

Our programs and services range from personal care and health to social skills and employment with considerable interconnection. As new skills are developed, levels of independence, desires and opportunities can change, and new doors open. The role of Instructor is to support and provide choices that help each client achieve a meaningful work life balance of their choosing.
The Opportunity: The successful candidate(s) will provide individualized support and person-centered planning for adults with intellectual disability.
Credentials:
Post-secondary education in a field related to working in human services (people with disabilities) Preference will be given to Human Services diploma or a completed equivalent post-secondary program.
Experience working with people who have disabilities is an asset.
Ability to perform all physical duties of the job (hands on training and support etc.).
Ability to perform all duties related to supporting adults with intellectual disability at a variety of work sites.
Excellent computer skills (adept in the use of various software programs including word, excel, database, PowerPoint).
Valid First-Aid /CPR and NVPCI
Proof of Vaccination for COVID -19
Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a passenger vehicle.
Proven team player with demonstrated communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding service orientated organization.
Weekend and evening work required.
The Hourly rate for this position is $18.00/hour.
