TEAM Work Cooperative (TEAM Work) is an innovative and dynamic organization with 26 years of experience in providing employment programs and services to residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality. A trusted Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centre, TEAM Work has been unwavering in its commitment to providing employment programs and services to residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality for more than 26 years.
In addition to case management, career counselling and employment maintenance, they specialize in job development, mentoring, creative job carving and career exploration. TEAM Work is client-centred. This means all work emerges from a place of passion, commitment and care that keeps clients’ best interests at the forefront. In the past year, TEAM Work helped 350 Nova Scotians in need of finding employment.
TEAM Work facilitates numerous programs supporting both job seekers and employers. These include MentorAbility, the GO3D Self-Employment Program, Career Link, the Workplace Support Program, the Opportunities Fund and more.
This Moment, This Position
This is a meaningful moment at TEAM Work Cooperative, a time when supporting job-ready clients who face barriers to employment is more important than ever.
As a Job Developer, you’ll be a connector, an advocate, and a champion for clients who are ready to work but need someone to open doors on their behalf. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Case Managers, the Employer Engagement Specialist, and your colleagues across TEAM Work to match clients’ skills and strengths with employers who value inclusive workplaces.
Every day, you’ll meet clients where they are, reviewing resumes, preparing for interviews, and exploring strategies that help them succeed. You’ll build relationships with employers, plan job fairs and information sessions, and tap into creative ways to create opportunity and connection. Through this work, you’ll help individuals land meaningful employment, while shaping how inclusive, equitable employment support shows up across Nova Scotia.
How You’ll Contribute
As a Job Developer at TEAM Work, your contributions will directly shape the employment journeys of our clients. You will:
- Work one-on-one with clients to understand their skills, goals, and barriers, helping them prepare for meaningful employment.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with employers, opening doors and creating opportunities for those who may face systemic or personal barriers to work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and community partners, using creativity and initiative to identify new opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and job fairs that connect clients with real employment prospects.
- Collaborate closely with Case Managers, Employer Engagement Specialists, and other job developers to share best practices, insights, and job leads.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interactions and outcomes, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
- Demonstrate initiative in connecting clients with opportunities, tapping into networks, and creatively problem-solving employment challenges.
- Bring energy, curiosity, and problem-solving skills to every client interaction, finding innovative ways to help them succeed.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll thrive in this role if you bring a combination of professional skills, lived experience, and personal qualities that make a real difference to clients’ success:
- Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those facing systemic barriers.
- Knowledge of employment services, labour market trends, and a willingness to learn more.
- Strong people skills, empathy, and the ability to connect with individuals on a personal and professional level.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening, coaching, and written correspondence.
- Initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness in building employer relationships and sourcing opportunities.
- Strong time management, organization, and project coordination skills.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an openness to learning new systems like LaMPSS.
- Access to reliable transportation and the ability to maintain required security clearances (Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Record Checks).
- A mindset for growth, collaboration, and continuous learning, someone curious, open-minded, and committed to making inclusive employment a reality.
- A collaborative spirit: you work well in teams but also take initiative independently.
- A deep sense of purpose and a belief in the power of inclusive employment.

The Package
Salary: $48,000 – $53,000 annually
Duration: 1 Year Contract (Maternity Leave – February 28, 2027)
Location: 7051 Bayers Rd, Suite 501, Halifax NS B3L 2C1
Travel: Within HRM for periodic events.
As a contract team member, you’ll have access to many of the same supports and perks as permanent staff, prorated based on the length of your contract. These include:

What to Expect
