Position: Family Programs Facilitator

The Family Programs Facilitator reports directly to the Family Programs Coordinator.

The Family Programs Facilitator provides formal and informal support to families by researching, planning, and delivering group programs and workshops, providing drop-in room facilitation, and offering one-on-one support.  The Family Programs Facilitator provides programs and informal support both on site and in outreach locations.

Programming & Family Support:

Plan and facilitate programs and workshops on and off site.
Research and develop new programming as needed.
Keep informed on current research and information regarding parent education.
Provide informal support to families through listening and helping them identify and connect to other services when requested.
Collaborate with staff on new initiatives or events hosted by The North Grove.
Provide informal support in the drop-in room.
Promote healthy parent/child relationship through modeling.
Provide individual parenting information and support as needed.
Keep informed on current resources in the community.
Co-facilitate additional North Grove programs on occasion and in partnership with other Program Coordinators.
Mentor volunteers and practicum students.
Provide programs and informal support both on site and in outreach locations.
Ensure the trading cupboard is appropriately stocked for parent and community member’s needs.

Sit on committees at The North Grove and/or represent The North Grove on relevant committees within the greater community.
Act as a liaison with other community-based organizations.
Maintain on-going relationships with community partners and identify opportunities for The North Grove to support community development.
Identify potential outreach programming sites and partner with other programs where appropriate.

Adhere to the policies and procedures of The North Grove.
Collect feedback and evaluations of programs.
Ensure data collected is relevant, informative and well managed.
Maintain accurate attendance records for programs and workshops.
Support the development of communication material such as program bulletins and the monthly calendar.
Work with the communication team to ensure the family programs are being highlighted in public communications.
Project Support:

Maintain effective communication with other staff.
Participate in training and team development opportunities.
Support maintaining a clean and safe physical environment at the North Grove.
Perform other duties that support the North Grove as required.
The Family Programs Facilitator may be required to work occasional evenings and/or weekends for organizational events or programs.

Salary range: $36,000 – $40,000 annually plus benefits
