    • Job Title: Executive Director – CMHA Halifax-Dartmouth Branch
    • Salary Range: $70,000 – $74,000 + Benefits (based on full-time @ 35  hours per week – salary pro-rated if successful applicant opts for reduced hours)
    • Location: Hybrid, HRM Some evening and weekend work will be required
    • Reports to: CMHA Halifax-Dartmouth Branch Board of Directors

We support the resilience and recovery/wellbeing of people living with mental illness through our Social Connection Programs, our support services, and the provision of information, resources, referrals, and advocacy in a space that is inclusive, safe, and respectful.     Job Summary

    The Executive Director leads the day-to-day operational effectiveness and long-term organizational sustainability of CMHA Halifax-Dartmouth Branch within the community. 

    The Executive Director will be responsible for the financial and operational management of the Branch. An integral part of this role includes, but is not limited to, fund development (including grant writing, private donor relationship cultivation, sponsorship development) and revenue diversification initiatives to ensure the sustainability and continuity of our Social Connection Programs and services in the community. As a key organizational leader, the Executive Director serves as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the Branch, building and maintaining strong relationships with community partners, funders, and supporters while promoting awareness of CMHA Halifax-Dartmouth’s work.

    Working closely with the Board of Directors, and in partnership with the Social Connection Programs Manager and the Office/Communications Manager (while engaging with the wider staff), this role balances strategic leadership, significant community engagement, and partnerships.

    CMHA Halifax-Dartmouth staff operate within a small, collaborative team environment, the Executive Director contributes to a culture of mutual support, transparency, shared responsibility, and one grounded in recovery-oriented practice.
