Volunteer Management Professionals of Nova Scotia

What is the Volunteer Management Professionals of Nova Scotia (VMPNS)?

After 20 years of advocacy, engagement, and peer learning, the Volunteer Management Professionals of Nova Scotia (VMPNS) is entering its newest iteration. To meet their strategic goals and return to its roots as a network of volunteer resource leaders, the VMPNS has decided to fold as an incorporated, board governance-led, professional association to become a part of Impact Organizations of Nova Scotia (IONS).

Joining IONS enables the network to focus on connecting sector leaders, bring volunteer engagement to their forefront within the Community Impact Sector, support valuable mission-driven work, and build skills and capacity all while alleviating the administrative burden of operating an organization. Becoming a part of IONS has allowed VMPNS to remove membership fees, deepen connections with rural Nova Scotia, and expand the network’s reach. In this new future, professional development, peer learning, collaboration, and ideation remains the foundation of VMPNS. We will continue growing our capacity to serve, connecting people, and offering programming and peer learning opportunities.
