Building Burnout Resiliency in Ourselves and Our Teams
March 25, 2021 @ 10:00 am - April 22, 2021 @ 12:00 pm
Burnout in the For-Impact sector was at pandemic levels long before COVID-19 struck, though it was often associated with empathetic and knowing glances, shared sighs, and viewed as part of the work, or even worn as a badge of honor.
We are in this sector because we care, but when our ability to give exceeds our physical, emotional, and mental bandwidth, we can experience health challenges and burnout. Burnout is commonly seen as an individual’s shortcoming that can be mitigated by simply doing more yoga, more counselling, getting outdoors more, etc. As Burnout has been widely studied over the last decade, we now know that burnout is an “Organizational problem that requires an organizational solution” (Harvard Business Review, Beyond Burnout, February 2021).
Join us starting March 25th for the Building Burnout Resiliency series, hosted by Nicole Cammaert and Emma Beukema of the CSCNS and facilitated by an experienced Faculty Team of fellow Executive Directors, leadership coaches, and organizational culture building professionals. Over the 5 sessions, brave and honest conversations will be facilitated, resources and tools will be shared, and offer prompts will occur between sessions. We will be exploring challenges and issues including:
- How to recognize passive and active burnout in yourself and in your teams;
- Burnout as reflection of your workplace culture, not your people;
- the importance of being an empathetic leader;
- Building healthy organizational culture for burnout prevention;
- How to foster Burnout Resiliency in yourself, for yourself, and as a leader and role model to your teams; and
- Much more!
