Learning Stream: Healthy Workplaces

Bias affects all aspects of our everyday experiences because our brains are constantly collecting and filtering complex information in order to make shortcuts. These hardwired shortcuts can create assumptions and knee-jerk reactions in the moment, which can be a result of unconscious bias – and the workplace is no exception to these biases. Ann Divine, CEO and Founder of Ashanti Leadership & Development Services and renowned expert on Unconscious Bias, will facilitate this highly engaging, interactive session.

This 2.5hr session will explore how to combat these biases and how to implement the learnings and strategies through a combination of content sharing and interactive discussions. Participants will be challenged to be aware of their own unconscious biases, where it stems from, and how it effects our everyday decision making, especially in the workplace.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn what unconscious bias is and how it shows up in our daily interactions and activities.
  • Reflect on the origins of unconscious bias and how it effects our decision making, specifically in the workplace.
  • Create a space to explore and discuss how to implement learnings to mitigate biases in the workplace.
